English requirement
Language certification proving a B2 level of proficiency in English. Accepted certificates include: TOEFL iBT 88 (with at least 22 points in each of the 4 skills) for certificates until January 2026, or 4.5 (minimum requirement: reading 4.5, listening 4.5, writing 4.5, speaking 4) for certificates from January 2026; IELTS Academic 6.5 (at least 6.5 points in each of the 4 skills); Cambridge English: First Certificate (FCE-B2) with at least 'Pass at Grade B' or CAE with at least 'Pass at Grade C'; B2 Certificate (CEFR) from a university language center; PTE Academic 70 (at least 70 points in each of the 4 skills); or other accepted proof including school-leaving certificates or completed studies in English.
Prior degree required
Graduates from the Bachelor's degree program 'Sustainable Polymer Engineering & a Circular Economy' are eligible for admission with no restrictions. Graduates from undergraduate degree programs in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Chemistry, and Mechatronics Bachelor's programs may be admitted subject to conditions. Graduates from other institutions in Austria or abroad may be admitted if their studies are similar in scope and content to the JKU's Bachelor's degree program in Sustainable Plastics Engineering and a Circular Economy.
